Brandon Horrocks is a conductor recognized for his thoughtful, imaginative, and expressive programming, with a growing presence in both academic and professional orchestral settings. Following several active seasons in the Salt Lake City music community, he joined the faculty of Texas A&M University–Kingsville in August 2025 as Adjunct Professor of Music and Conducting. In this role, he leads the University’s Concert Band, teaches undergraduate conducting, and mentors emerging conductors through private instruction.
Horrocks has held Music Director and Conductor positions with the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra and the Wasatch Symphony Orchestra, and previously served as Assistant Conductor of the Salt Lake Symphony. He has collaborated with ensembles across the Intermountain West, including the New American Philharmonic (Ogden), West Jordan Symphony, and Taylorsville-SLCC Symphony. Recent and upcoming engagements include his Texas debut with the Kingsville Symphony Orchestra (October 2025), his debut with the Great Falls Symphony (December 2025), and a forthcoming debut with Opera Contempo in April 2026, conducting a staged reimagining of Handel’s Messiah.
In addition to his orchestral work, Horrocks maintains an active background in choral and vocal music. He has served as a section leader with the Cathedral of the Madeleine Choir and as an assistant teacher at the Madeleine Choir School, contributing to one of the region’s most respected choral programs.
Horrocks holds Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in Orchestral Conducting, as well as a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, all from the University of Utah. His principal teachers include Robert Baldwin (conducting), Seth Keeton and David Power (voice), and Robert Breault (opera). As a vocalist, he has performed with the Grand Teton Festival Chorus, Utah Chamber Artists, Salt Lake Choral Artists, La Jolla Symphony & Chorus, and the San Diego Master Chorale.
He is currently based in South Texas.
